Privacy Policy — Meeting Mute: Mic & Camera Off
Last updated: 25 October 2026
Meeting Mute is an Android app made by Adinand Innovations. This policy says what the app reads, what it keeps and what it sends. The short version: it reads two buttons in your meeting app, it keeps a few settings on your phone, and it sends nothing to us.
1. What the app does
Meeting Mute keeps your own microphone muted and your camera off in Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. When your mic or camera turns on and you have not chosen Talk, it presses that app's own mute or camera button to turn it back off, usually within a second. It reacts after the change, so your mic can be live for that moment, and it works only while the meeting screen is open on your phone.
2. The accessibility service, and what it reads
To see and press those buttons, Meeting Mute uses Android's accessibility service. Before the service reads anything, the app shows you a disclosure screen (what it reads, what it does, what it keeps) and asks you to agree. If you decline, the service reads nothing, even if it is switched on in Android's settings. You can turn the service off at any time in Android Settings › Accessibility › Meeting Mute.
With your agreement, the service reads only the mute and camera buttons in Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and the app's own demo meeting, to see whether each one is on or off. It does not read your meetings, chats, names, messages or anything else on the screen, and it reads nothing in any other app. It never records audio or video and never reads meeting content. What it reads is not saved and not sent anywhere.
3. Data we collect
None. Meeting Mute has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no server of its own. Nothing about you or your use of the app is reported to us.
4. What stays on your phone
The app keeps these settings in its own private storage on your phone. They never leave the phone and are removed when you uninstall the app:
- whether you agreed to the disclosure, or declined it;
- which apps (Teams, Meet) and which controls (microphone, camera) the guard covers;
- how many meetings the guard has covered this calendar month, and the state of the current meeting (so a meeting is counted once and a Skip can be reversed);
- the name of a plan you own (monthly, yearly or lifetime), cached from Google Play so the app works without asking Play every time;
- how many times the app has asked for notification permission.
5. Network use: Google Play Billing only
The only network connection the app makes is to Google Play Billing, to show plans, complete a purchase you start, and check whether you own a plan. That connection is made by Google's Play Billing library, which is also why the app declares the Internet and network-state permissions. Purchases are processed by Google Play under Google's own terms and privacy policy; we never see your payment details. No other code in the app opens a network connection.
6. Permissions
- Accessibility service — turned on by you in Android settings after the disclosure in section 2.
- Notifications (optional) — for the Talk and Guard notification during a meeting. The Quick Settings tile works without it.
- Google Play Billing — for buying and checking a plan (section 5).
- Internet and network state — declared by the Play Billing library (section 5).
- Advanced Protection setting — the app reads one yes/no value, whether Android's Advanced Protection is on, only to show a hint while the guard is off. Nothing is stored or sent.
7. Children
Meeting Mute is a meeting tool for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
8. Deleting your data
Uninstall the app, or clear its storage in Android Settings › Apps › Meeting Mute. Both remove everything in section 4. Plans you bought live in your Google account, managed in Google Play, not in the app.
9. Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top and, for material changes, say so in the app or on its Google Play listing.
